SP-ITC backed to normal operation after lockdown lifted

On June 17th, International Transportation and Trade JSC (ITC), the company manages and operates SP-ITC International Container Terminal, located Phu Huu Ward, Thu Duc City said in the correspondence that after 3 days of working with the authorities and the Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control related to suspected cases coming to work at the Port, SP-ITC is restored to normal operation from 17:30 on June 16th.

SP-ITC is restored to normal operation from 17:30 on June 16th.

Previously, immediately after receiving information about the suspected case, SP-ITC coordinated with the Health Center to screen and take samples for more than 300 officers, employees and vendors of the terminal. By June 16th, the Health Center announced that all more than 300 test samples were negative.

Besides, the Chemical Force of the Vietnam People's Army also sent specialized forces and equipments to fumigate the entire areas in the terminal.

At the same time, SP-ITC has also changed the method of signing documents between the terminal and vessels to ensure safety and health for the seafarers and the terminal’s staff.

In the past few days, SP-ITC has maintained the daily operations with the spirit of ensuring maximum safety for both terminal’s activities and customers’ cargo handling at the terminal as well. Customers coming to SP-ITC have to comply with 5K and limit the closed contacts with other people to protect the terminal’s activities.

However, some operation activities from 13th June to 16th June were slightly affected, such as handling at CFS, stuffing/ unstuffing at yards and berths since these services require to deploy stevedores.

Acknowledge of the closed and effective cooperations from SP-ITC with functional departments and Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, the authorities allowed SP-ITC to retrieve full operations from 17:30 15th June 2021, including terminal services relating to stevedores.

In the context of the complex epidemics in HCM City, SP-ITC requires strictly compliance from shipping lines, shipping agents, customers and vendors to declare medical condition by QR Code before entering the terminal and apply 5K resolutely in the entire process while working at SP-ITC.
