Coronavirus - an invisible killer - has made people understand what the true value of life is, how valuable their life is, especially living a slow life.
Before the time coronavirus has taken people’s lives- as many as it is impossible to count by the regular counting unit of seconds and minutes and before the time coronavirus make it a terror with countless corpses of COVID-19 victims- corpses that they cannot have timely burial, corpses in body bags piled up in mortuaries, in hospitals, many of us have heard the concept of slow living, many of us have talked about slow living, but not many of us have practiced slow living- all is a lip-service only.
Everybody has been in a hurry: They elbowed others to pass them or even to pass themselves for the fear of having not enough time. Not having enough time for living earning, not having enough time on their way of pursuing their careers, their ambitions and their dreams. Not having enough time to go far away from their own poverty, to have a position in the rich or to consolidate their positions. Not having enough time to catch opportunities or to expand their relationships. Not having enough time to invest in their minds. Not having time to accumulate money...
And coronavirus attacked and it killed many. It is more destructive than any destructive weapons man used for war or peace-keeping purpose. Death from the war with an invisible enemy seemed to make people wise up.
They began loving themselves and loving families- their beloved things, things are vulnerable to the destruction of the tiniest enemy, but the most destructive one.
They wised up and realize the beauties that they have missed because of their daily pursuits, the beauties they must have stopped by to feel with all their perceptions and their feelings.
They wised up and realize they have avoided so many chances they are able to be enlightened by the beauty, by the belief or by the happiness coming from something so tiny.
And we immersed ourselves looking at a streak of sunlight or a bud sprouting as we looked at a wonder.
We do not have to set foot on wonders, on great mighty forests, on vast plains, on burning deserts or on sunny beaches to find such a happiness.
It is in a narrow space of our houses in the time of social distancing- not a garden or a sunny patio, but a tiny yard or balcony- that we create the enlightening world of our own if we do love quantum of our lives.
Things in the house- regular boring things as the kitchen, the dining room or the living room, the book case with our favorite books, the guitar, the paintings or the souvenirs that we brought from our journeys- now are shining with the sunlight of love.
When we live a really slow life and feel its invaluable values, our heart will be enlightened as well...
